Field day: Saturday, May 11 starting at 8AM. All help is welcome and appreciated! Bring gloves, shovels, wheel barrows, rakes, dirt tampers, and any other landscaping tools you might have to speed tasks up!

We need your help! Come out and lend a hand to prepare the field for the summer season! Bring any yard equipment you have (rakes, shovels, wheel barrows, etc.).

Where: Manzano Field

Some tasks include: bleacher repairs, foul lines, painting foul poles, hanging widescreens, weed removal, and infield/outfield maintenance.

The league will be hosting its annual end-of-season picnic for 2018 on Wednesday, September 19, with a backup date of Thursday, September 20 for inclement weather. The event will be held at the softball fields and will begin at 5:30 PM. The highlight of the event will be an all-star game beginning at 6:00 PM. End-of-season awards, Hall of Fame inductions, and our summer season tournament winners will also be celebrated.

The SLSA and SSSL executive committees have voted to update their guidance documents for the 2018 season, including the constitution, by-laws, and rules of play. The newest version of the documents can be found on the documents page. A list of major changes is also available.

The spring/summer 2018 season is quickly approaching! Whether you’re returning to your old team, looking for a new team, or completely new to the league, make sure to reach our to your coach or the execs and secure your spot on a team! Key dates are below:
– Monday, April 9 — Early registration deadline
– Saturday, April 21 — Field day
– Monday, April 23 — Final registration deadline
– Monday, May 7 — Opening day

If you’re new to the league or simply looking for a new team team, sign up on our recruiting page and somebody will contact within a couple of days.

Remember, a wide variety of folks are eligible to play Sandia Softball, including Sandians, Sandia contractors, Kirtland AFB employees and active duty, DOE employees, and spouses, dependents, and retirees.

Interested in playing softball this summer, but your arm is a bit out of shape? Join the Sandia Softball Association for a Lunch & Catch event 11:30-1:00 on Wednesday, April 20 at the Manzano Fields. We’ll provide food and a few extra gloves, so come check out our fields, dust off the glove, and find a team for the season, which begins May 2.
